Jeronimo Bezerra, Humberto Galiza, and the New AmLight Network Engineers Adil Zahir (CIARA), and Vinicius Arcanjo (RNP) attended the Second Kytos Summit that took place in São Paulo State University (Portuguese: Universidade Estadual Paulista “Júlio de Mesquita Filho”, UNESP), from Aug 21st to 23th. In addition to sessions related to the controller, the attendees had technical presentations and discussions related to the status of UNESP, AmLight, ANSP, and RNP networks and how they are using, or planning to use SDN technologies. One of the goals is to understand the issues faced in particular by AmLight on dealing with SDN and discuss how the Kytos controller could be used to handle them. A possible demonstration for the Supercomputing Conference (SC17) in November 2017 and definition of the scope of collaboration for 2017 was also discussed.
The change is still underway in Software-Defined Networking, but now it’s at least clear that SDN is here to stay and it will change the way we build networks in the future. So let’s discuss the future of SDN and Kytos Platform together.
